weekend at wstlke - Oct 18th
hiking the Bridgers
This weekend at wstlke we were back in Bozeman, and had our eyes set on hiking the highest peak of the Bridger range: Sacagawea Peak. We've been planning to make this summit for some time now, and despite an early snow storm rolling through the weekend before, we decided to grab our crampons and go up anyway.
We started our Friday with an early pilates class (a regret), some coffee shop working at Roly Poly Coffee, before heading out to Fairy Lake and the trailhead. It was cold and windy but we layered up in our Sierra Knit and Buchanan windbreaker, and submitted in 2 and a half hours. We hit knee deep snow halfway to the top, and at some points needed hands and feet to scramble up, but the view at the top was all worth it.
After a run/fall/scramble back to the car we raced home for some warm food, a beer, and a long night sleep.
what we wore: the Sierra Knit, windbreaker, Salomon XT-6s, crampons
