Weekend at WSTLKE - June 6th

The Gorge

This weekend at WSTLKE we packed a tent, a mattress and a dream into Mae's pickup truck and drove 8 hours west. We rolled through western Montana into Idaho Friday night  before dark, played some board games in the fading light and got less than full night's sleep in bear country. Saturday morning started slow — iced coffee and under-eye patches in our Sierra Knits as we prepared for the day ahead of us - it was Rufus day.

RÜFÜS DU SOL at the Gorge. A place the Australian band keeps coming back to for a reason. We drove the remaining 5 hrs to The Gorge in the middle of Washington, about an hour outside of Seattle. We got there in time to pitch our tent at Crazy Horse campgrounds and watch the sun drop behind the stage from the venue. Not a night we'll forget anytime soon.

Sunday was slow — breaking down camp, folding the tents, and preparing for the long drive back home. Eight hours gives you a lot of time to recap the weekend, and agree it was one of the best concerts we've ever seen.
